Small album of annotated snapshots of hospital, camp, and field scenes in South Africa during the South African War (1899-1902). Pictures include gun wagons, nursing staff going about their duties, Lord Kitchener on horseback, native servants, mail being delivered, horse lines, the camp of Plumers Column, the hospital train, the ambulance van, officers' quarters in Johannesburg, buildings in Pretoria, observers at a cricket game, bullock wagons, nurses' graves, and a performance of the Cameron Highlanders. Includes a few pictures taken after the war.
